ATEX SUITABILITY

Hazardous areas demand correct marking.

The general product catalogue lists the following gas and dust atmosphere markings for this ATEX side channel blower range.

GAS ATMOSPHERE · GENERAL CATALOGUE, P. 8II 1/2G Ex h IIA T3 Ga/Gb
DUST ATMOSPHERE · GENERAL CATALOGUE, P. 8II 2D Ex h IIIA T200°C Db

Do not assume suitability beyond gas subgroup IIA or dust subgroup IIIA. Confirm the zone, substance, temperature class and the complete motor and drive assembly against the selected model’s ATEX documentation.

INDUSTRIAL APPLICATIONS

Where can they be considered?

01 / ATEX

Chemical & process plants

Pressure or vacuum applications involving flammable gas or vapour risks, subject to verified ATEX suitability.

02 / ATEX

Wastewater & biogas processes

Gas transport and process air duties where gas composition, atmosphere classification and system safety have been confirmed.

03 / ATEX

Gas transport, extraction and related process support duties selected for the required differential pressure.

VENSIS ENGINEERING

Start with five details for a quote.

These details allow the appropriate series and motor configuration to be selected using catalogue technical data. The equipment category and temperature class must match the project conditions.

  1. Required airflow (m³/h)
  2. Operating pressure or vacuum (mbar)
  3. Zone and gas/dust subgroup
  4. Medium composition and temperature
  5. Power supply and duty cycle

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

ATEX blower essentials.

How does an explosion-proof blower differ from a standard ventilation fan?

A side channel blower is process equipment designed to produce pressure or vacuum. It has different selection criteria from general ventilation fans. Hazardous-area uses additionally require the correct ATEX classification.

How do I choose between single and double stage?

Consider the duty-point airflow, differential pressure or vacuum, power and thermal conditions. Double-stage designs are commonly assessed for higher differential pressure duties. Confirm final selection against the manufacturer’s model curves.

Are all ATEX blowers suitable for every hazardous zone?

No. Equipment marking, category, gas or dust subgroup, temperature class and installation conditions must match the actual environment. Verify suitability using the selected product’s documentation.

How are price and lead time determined?

They depend on power, duty point, motor/drive arrangement and ATEX requirements. Fixed prices and stock availability are not listed on this page.
